Non-Profit Director

A key leadership role responsible for contributing to the overall governance, strategy, and direction of the Amazing Kids Foundation. This position is ideal for community-minded individuals who bring experience, leadership, and passion to help guide the organization’s growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Oversight

  • Participate actively in board discussions and decision-making.

  • Ensure the Foundation operates in alignment with its mission and values.

  • Support compliance with governing documents, policies, and legal obligations.

​

Strategic Planning & Guidance

  • Contribute to the development of strategic goals and initiatives.

  • Provide insight and perspective to help guide the Foundation’s direction.

  • Support the Executive Director and fellow Board Members in advancing priorities.

​

Community Engagement

  • Act as an ambassador for the Foundation in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

  • Help build partnerships with individuals, organizations, and local businesses.

  • Promote awareness of the Foundation’s mission and initiatives.

​

Fundraising & Events

  • Assist with planning and participating in at least two fundraising events annually, plus our signature event Skijorning!

  • Help identify opportunities for growth and sustainability.

  • Support donor stewardship and community involvement.

​

Potential Future Responsibilities with Growth

As the Foundation evolves, General Directors may also:

  • Mentor new Board Members and contribute to Board development.

  • Participate in committees or working groups for special initiatives as available.

  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities based on skills and interests.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous board or non-profit leadership experience would be preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to organizational growth.

  • Commitment to the mission of supporting children and families facing the loss of a parent.

​

Time Commitment

This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, estimated at 2–5 hours per month (plus attendance at fundraisers and the mandatory yearly AGM).
The role may evolve as the Foundation grows and expands its programs.

​

Term of Office

Two years with the possibility of renewal for a second term.

​
