Volunteer Director

A key leadership role responsible for overseeing the recruitment, coordination, and engagement of volunteers to support the Amazing Kids Foundation’s programs, fundraising events, and community initiatives. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational and people skills who is passionate about building community and ensuring volunteers feel valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

 

Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from across the Sea to Sky Corridor.

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive volunteer culture that reflects the mission of the Foundation.

  • Create opportunities for volunteers to connect with one another and feel part of the community.

Volunteer Coordination

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of volunteers and their skills.

  • Match volunteers to opportunities that fit their strengths and interests.

  • Ensure volunteers are prepared and supported in their roles at events and activities.

​

Fundraising & Event Support

  • Collaborate with board members to plan and staff fundraising events.

  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments for at least two fundraisers annually.

  • Be involved in our signature event that is still unfolding. Bringing Skijorning to the Sea to Sky!

  • Provide on-site support to ensure smooth volunteer operations during events.

Program & Community Involvement

  • Explore new ways for volunteers to contribute to the Foundation’s mission.

  • Strengthen community partnerships by connecting with local organizations and groups.

  • Gather volunteer feedback to continuously improve the experience.

Potential Future Responsibilities with Growth

As the Foundation expands, the Volunteer Director may also:

  • Develop formal volunteer training and orientation resources.

  • Create recognition programs to celebrate volunteer contributions.

  • Support the development of youth volunteer opportunities.

  • Explore digital tools to streamline volunteer management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in volunteer management, event planning, or community engagement.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to inspire others.

  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to inclusivity and community building.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to evolving needs.

​

Time Commitment

This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, estimated at 2–5 hours per month (plus attendance at fundraisers and the mandatory yearly AGM).
The role may evolve as the Foundation grows and expands its programs.

​

Term of Office

Two years with the possibility of renewal for a second term.
