Web Master

The Webmaster oversees the Foundation’s website and digital presence, helping ensure our online spaces are clear, supportive, and easy to navigate. This role also supports the development of an online resource for families navigating the loss of a parent, working closely with the Executive Director and Board.

This position is well-suited to someone comfortable with website platforms who enjoys improving systems over time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining the Foundation’s website so it remains current, functional, and user-friendly

  • Identifying opportunities to improve performance, accessibility, and security

  • Supporting the planning and phased development of an online resource hub for families

  • Coordinating with external web developers or service providers when needed

  • Ensuring digital projects follow best practices for usability, privacy, and accessibility

Project & growth support:

  • Helps develop a phased digital plan that aligns with available funding (with the Executive Director)

  • Supports the gradual expansion of the online resource as funding and needs evolve

  • Incorporates feedback and simple analytics to improve effectiveness over time

Skills & experience (helpful, not required to check every box):

  • Experience with website management or digital projects

  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Wix or WordPress (currently Wix, open to change as we grow)

  • Comfortable coordinating vendors and managing small digital projects

  • Organized, communicative, and collaborative

Time & commitment:

  • Volunteer role with flexible hours

  • Estimated 2–5 hours per month

  • Attendance at fundraisers and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Term:

  • Two-year term, with the option to renew

  • Initial term runs through November 2028
